Nancy Barnes is a life-long resident of Sykesville. She and her husband had built their home near Piney Ridge Elementary School in 1960 and she lived there until making her transition to Fairhaven this past February.
Nancy graduated from Sykesville High School and remains in contact with many of her high school friends. She then transitioned to a career at Springfield Hospital where she worked for 30 years. St. Paul’s Methodist church has been Nancy’s place of worship for many years.
Nancy has enjoyed traveling over the years and has explored various areas of the U.S. – – including Montana, Missouri, the New England area, Florida, Tennessee and many more. Even though her brother and sister have not lived in Maryland for many years she manages to keep a close relationship with them and her nieces and nephews.
Since Nancy is a life-long Sykesville resident she has had a connection to Fairhaven for many years as well. She is a long-time Treasure Shop customer and is anticipating that she will still find amazing items there. Nancy visited Fairhaven often when her mother was a resident in the health center and was also able to maintain relationships with other long-time Sykesville residents as well.
Nancy has not yet been involved with activities here but since she enjoys handcraft activities, she may find some interests in the Art Studio or the Crafts Room. She likes people and likes being involved so the return of Fairhaven regular activities will add another dimension to her regular routines.
