Dining Services

Revised: 1/3/2018

Meal Plans
Upon arrival, residents select a meal plan through the Marketing and Sales Office, which in turn notifies the departments of Finance and Dining Services. Three meal plans are available:

Plan One – One meal a day, which may be taken at breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
Plan Two – Two meals a day (any two of the usual three).
Plan Three – Three meals a day.

Any time a resident wishes to change the meal plan, a “Request for Meal Plan” form must be completed. These forms are available at the main reception desk.

In order for a necessary adjustment to be made on the resident’s next monthly billing statement, this must be completed by the 15th of the month.

Special Diets
By appointment, a Registered Dietitian from Dining Services can provide special instructions to enable residents to choose wisely from the menu or can provide certain special foods ordered by a doctor. A fee will be assessed for independent living residents who use this service.

Holiday Meals
On certain legal holidays, in order for employees to have time with their families, Fairhaven will serve a reservation-only meal in the Beasman Dining Room. Dining times are announced on this site and in the Friday Bulletin when reservations are required.

Residents who are on a multiple-meal plan or who do not wish to go to the dining room may order a box dinner by submitting, at least two days before the holiday, the form available at the main Reception Desk. Holiday box dinners must be picked up before 2:00 p.m. from the Beasman Bistro.

Absence from Usual Meals
Whenever a resident does not plan to take a daily meal at Fairhaven, please notify the main reception desk at 410-795-8800, so that a status inquiry will not need to be made by campus Security.

Away Meal Credits
Special meal credit is given to residents when they are away from Fairhaven for 8 (eight) consecutive days or more. To receive this credit, complete the “Away Form” at the main Reception Desk. If residents are away from Fairhaven for 1 to 7 consecutive days they can get a “Missed Meal Voucher” upon return to Fairhaven. To receive this voucher, the resident must complete the “Away Form” before leaving Fairhaven. Residents can get up to 2 vouchers to be used in any Fairhaven Dining Venue.  The voucher is not transferable and can not be used for Special Events.  It is valid for one month from issue.
